When we picked up our strawberry plant for 99¢ at Home Depot last summer, it was the saddest looking thing you've ever seen.
Now it's big and bushy and sending out runners all over the place. We got pretty many strawberries off of it last year despite its scrawniness, so I think we're set to have a decent harvest once again.

Is "Strawberry Fields" too obvious for a title?

Nice looking plant, but I couldn't help but notice your gnome in the background. I just recently completed a poll on my blog regarding gnomes and whether or not they are loved or hated. I found a funny You Tube video you should check out if you have a spare 5 minutes. It's crazy!
I like your gnome. He's not bright and flashy like most gnomes...
And that strawberry plant! Wow!
You just never know what kind of gem you're gonna find in a store, eh?
I once bought a scrawny, 3 leafed banana leaf plant from K-Mart. It was less than 16 high. The man was going to throw it in the trash and said I could have it.
That was over 13 years ago. The same plant is now an 8 foot tree! We affectionatly call it the Jolly Green Giant.
Enjoy those yummy strawberries!
Ha!!! Let's hope that gnome doesn't have a taste for strawberries! I like the idea of his serving as a guardian over your plant. But netting might still be a good idea when the fruit starts changing color!
Whoa! it's not scrawny any longer :)
Lucky (said like Napolean Dynamite). I can't make strawberries take off to save my life. I bought 2 pretty ones at HD and now they look scrawny. What do you do for yours, please don't say 'nothing'. My dd wants real strawberries so bad!
