Yarrr!

Back in business.

We took advantage of the 75° weather and got lots of work done in the garden today. We planted, dug, raked, weeded, watered, transplanted, composted, and started what will soon be spectacular farmers' tans. But, despite all that work, this was the biggest accomplishment of the day:

hahaha! The picture on your blog really is real! I LOVE it!

So, what I want to know now, is how it all came to be.....

LOL! Cool! Hey what is it flying from? Is that the tallest piece of bamboo ever seen??

Well, thank God. Some standards must be upheld!!! (We have one, too, but sadly, ours is languishing in the closet, waiting for us to figure out where to display it. Perhaps over the chicken coop? Our Buff Orpington does seem to have piratical tendencies...)

Do tell, what is the significance of the pirate flag?
Do the neighbors just think you've lost your mind?

Katie, maybe you could plant some sort of ground cover in the shape of a skull & crossbones in your front yard. Would that fly with the neighborhood covenant? :P

Twinville, it is real! I forget exactly how it came about. I think we just got the idea for it one day (probably beer-influenced) and actually ended up going through with us. There used to be a little shop near our house that sold all sorts of weird and quirky yard stuff--tiki bars and giant margarita glasses and things--and Kelly picked it up there.

Robbyn, yes, that is THE tallest piece of bamboo ever. It is definitely taller than last year's flagpole!

Ben, your chickens totally need a pirate flag! That would be a great spot for it.

Kelly, "rebel yell" makes me think of watching Braveheart in my 12th grade English class. Thanks a lot!

CeeCee, sadly, I think the main significance of the flag is that we thought it would be cool. I think the neighbors like it :D

Nice, now I have to have one. I'll have to have a custom one made though, a pirate rainbow southern green pride rebel flag. lol.
