Kind of Blue

Our potatoes are coming up like weeds. The weeds are coming up like weeds, too, but the potatoes are a much more welcome presence in the garden. The All Blue sprouts are my favorites because they're, predictably, all blue.

It's amazing how prevelant purple and blue are in the plant world once you notice it.Are you guys growing your potatoes in the ground? I am trying potatoes in garbage cans this year and they are doing great as well.

Geez, meg, and here I was thrilled with my purple-tinged potato foliage, but yours is blue-black. Too cool!!! I have a hunch potato beetles might be tricked by it, too. Keep us posted!

That's probably my favorite album...

I'm trying some red potatoes (cranberry red) this year. I'll have to add blues to the mix next year...
Have you grown the All Blues before? How are they for taste?

Enjoying your blog!

Interesting. My all blues didn't do that. They are flowering now, and the flowers are blue.
