Cause to Celebrate

Today Meg and I have been married for one year. We celebrated the occasion by planting peas.

Happy anniversary! You're no longer newlyweds...

And what a proud day to celebrate with peas...

Congratulations. How come you picked peas to plant for the occasion? Maybe like--two peas in a pod?

Awesome congrats Kelly. They say the first is always the hardest so if you found it easy then you're in for a pleasure cruise. Well done and here's to many, many more.

Congratulations! How cool that your wedding day falls so close to the vernal equinox -- what a nice metaphor. And planting peas to celebrate.... Jeez, now I can't even be grumpy that you don't have any f***ing snow!

Good luck with the peas too.

Happy anniversary! However, I'm going to tentatively disagree with Katie--we've been told by friends that up to two years is still considered newlywed...especially when you're, say, trying to get a hotel room late at night. "We're newlyweds! We're on our second honeymoon..."

Seeded - good point. How many years does that last? I think I might try that one next time....or perhaps "We're celebrating our anniversary." Now I want to go on vacation!

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the wonderful comments. We actually weren't sure sure if we were going to celebrate our anniversary on the 20th or 21st. We got married on the 21st, but we chose the date because it was the first day of spring (last year). So we had to decide if we were going to celebrate on the date or the season. I think we decided to do both to satisfy all.
