Heh. Should have thought of that yesterday, for St. Patrick's. Oh well.
We continue to diligently trim up our onion tops, as per the advice of our brilliant commenters on this post.
Every time we do this, we end up with a yummy little pile of onion greens, which we throw in whatever it is we're having for dinner.

I swear I can smell them through the computer screen. Yum.
Okay, there's a good reason to start onions indoors.
Wow, so pretty and uniform! I just planted onions for the first time two days ago. Here's hoping mine do as well as yours!
I know it seems so...harsh but I swear it helps make these things grow nice and fat. Yay!
Mmmmmm! So yummy. Can't wait to see how fat and succulent they get as they grow.
Are these from seeds or bulbs? I do like this idea.
Shannon, they smell great. Even the tiny amount of greens we got are so pungent that they add lots of flavor to food.
Jenny, ha, yeah. They're extra work to start inside, but at least you can snack on them as they grow ...
Melinda, good luck with yours!
El, so far so good. If we finally get a good sized onion this year, we've giving all the credit to you!
Twinville, me either!
Christy, they're from seeds. We've done bulbs in the past and had awful luck. So far I think we've had more growth from the seeds than we ever got from the bulbs!
That's it...I'm starting onions inside this weekend!
