When Meg and I are in the garden we bring the chickens along to do some weeding and bug hunting. They never work where we want them too, but they're always good for a few laughs.

Ha!!! Love the idea of this! We should toss the girls in the chicken tractor and cart them around the place, too. But rather than help us out, I have a strange feeling that they'd figure out some way to create chaos on an unprecedented scale...

I love the chicken pictures, and if we don't get some land where we can have some soon, I'm going to go crazy and have the first indoor potty-trained laying hens... :)
They look like ducks on land with their bottoms all in the air. My hens don't differentiate between weeds and baby plants. They also do as they please, just as your girls do.
Thank you for the comments. Since this photo was taken we have continued to bring the chickens into the garden with us and they have been doing some fine work. We don't have a chicken tractor (yet) to keep them localized so we have to make sure the don't wander to where we planted because they will eat the seeds. Other than that they have been great.
